Concrete Fly-In July 12-13

Concrete Old-Fashioned Fly-In – July 12, 13, 2019

The annual Concrete Vintage Fly-In (formerly North Cascades Vintage Fly-In) has grown to become a favorite fly in for vintage, classic and antique airplane enthusiasts. Nestled in the foothills of the North Cascade mountain range in Washington state, the Concrete Vintage Fly-In draws numerous significant and interesting aircraft. The Fly-In not only appeals to vintage aircraft enthusiasts and locals enjoying the community, but also Skagit Valley visitors driving the Cascade Loop and visiting the North Cascades National Park find it an excellent festival stop on their vacation.Town of Concrete and Concrete Events are working to make this year’s Fly-In the best ever.  This year there will be a pancake breakfast hosted by Grasmere Fire Dept, food trucks and most importantly — many vintage aircraft!

Aircraft Departures

We look forward to seeing you at the 2019 Fly-In!

Pilots – Please see our Pilot Information for Fly-In Details.

Arrival & Parking

In an effort to accommodate the ever growing number of aircraft flying in, the fly-in will again use a higher density, overlapping tail to tail parking system for this year’s fly-in. Once again the ground crew will be reserving the southeast corner of the main parking area for antique, vintage and classic aircraft. Other aircraft are kindly asked to park either on the south side of the runway (which, at the east end, is equally great viewing for airplanes landing and taking off)  as well as the parking available west of the main museum hangar.

Arriving pilots should monitor and communicate on 122.9 as they approach the airport. Upon landing, pilots will be directed to the best available parking where they will be met by ground personnel who will help them with the parking and hand out registration cards.  Any pilot wishing to hold a nearby parking space for an incoming pilot can just let the ground personnel know after parking.

Accommodation & Food
Camping is available at the airport next to your airplane. The pilots lounge is open for public use and includes shower, restroom and kitchen facilities. There are several local lodging options in Concrete, more information can be found here: Concrete Lodging. There will be food vendors at the airport all day Saturday (see above) and we have some other plans too, keep checking back for updates! There are also several local restaurants in Concrete which is about a 15-20 minute walk. Other fun: We expect the Skagit Valley Antique Car Club on Saturday and a local vintage motorcycle club to join us at some point during the weekend! The Concrete Resource Coalition is hosting Concrete Youth Activity Day from 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Concrete. Fuel Station Our fuel station has 100 LL aviation gas available. It is required that you carry a minimum of liability insurance on your aircraft to participate in the Concrete Vintage Fly-In. Please utilize safety precautions at all times. Please stay off the runway and behind the aircraft parking lines (painted in orange) at all times unless necessary. If you must cross the runway, please exercise caution in doing so. No low fast passes upon taking off are permitted.

Sky Valley Motorcycle Show, 23rd annual, ABATE sponsored

9:00 AM09:00

Sky Valley Motorcycle Show, 23rd annual, ABATE sponsored

  • 1st Street Snohomish, WA, 98290 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Show is a community event run by Sky Valley Chapter; ABATE of Washington on behalf of the citizens of Snohomish and the motorcyclists of Washington. The Show Bikes Are often mechanical marvels that still perform decades after their first ride. We aim to provide a working history of transportation modes and demonstrate an environmental alternative to automobiles. Our exhibitors demonstrate the quality workmanship available in the Puget Sound region, creativity and artistic skill, and industrial design. Through their workmanship we can see engineering developments, such as CNC aluminum billet work and engine performance enhancements, state-of-the-art paint and finish technology

The Show celebrates the history of motorcycling in America and individual expression. It stimulates commerce among local motorcycle-related businesses and educates the public about motorcycle safety issues.

The Show occurs in May because May is Motorcycle Awareness Month, as proclaimed by the governor. By drawing in tourists to our town from all over Washington, BC, Oregon, and Idaho the Show enhances Snohomish's reputation for antique-related activities, provides a positive image of the motorcycling community and encourages family discussions about riding experiences as well as local historical events.

Our primary goals are to:

· Raise public awareness of motorcycles and motorcycle safety

· Hold our show during Motorcycle Awareness Month (May)

· Park motorcycles, safely, downtown for one day for show & tell and education.

· Involve members of community

· Support local community organizations

We also hope to:

· Express our rights of free speech and public assembly.

· Promote tourism.

· Promote local businesses.

· Give back to community.

· Keep admission free for visitors. And participation low cost.

· Express the history of our region through the history of our machines.
