Art of the Motorcycle: British Invasion!
Featured Theme: Vintage Motorcycles from Great Britain
(Post-WWII through the 1970s/80s)
Motorcycles played important roles in WW II. After the war, manufacturers resumed a focus on the civilian market. War veterans don’t always find it easy to re-integrate into civilian society, but motorcycles offered a sense of personal freedom and wider horizons, along with an adrenaline rush that some had become accustomed to while at war. Some American servicemen exposed to British bikes sought them out back home, including BSAs, Nortons, Triumphs, and Vincents. Come see fine examples of these wonderful freedom machines!

Last year’s show…
The 2025 debut of WVM’s Art of the Motorcycle: The Men, Women, and Machines that Shaped History offered an amazing collection of over 120 vintage motorcycles in outstanding condition (most lovingly restored and ridden by WVM members). The show featured a 1918 Excelsior motorcycle as the oldest on display, and included a vintage motorcycle auction, a selection of “for sale” bikes and more, all for only $10 admission. Featured collections included Cafe Racers, the Superbike Era 4’s, Moto GP Racers, and Honda CT’s in addition to many vintage bike marques, both accessible and exotic, including: Aermacchi, Ariel, BMW, BSA, Ducati, Excelsior, Greeves, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Matchless, Moto Guzzi, Norton, Suzuki, Triumph, Puch, Vincent, and Yamaha.. A view of the show as seen through the eyes of “Motorcycles with Matt” on YouTube:
